What is Inverse Trigonometric Function?

The inverse trigonometric functions are a group of functions that undo the trigonometric functions. The inverse functions take a value in the range of the original function and return an angle that produces that value when the original function is applied to it.

For example, the inverse sine function (denoted as sin^-1) takes a value in the range [-1, 1] and returns an angle in the range [-90°, 90°] such that sin(sin^-1(x)) = x.

There are six inverse trigonometric functions:
